Let Us Introduce Ourselves

Hans Philip Skariah, B.Sc., DMD

Dr. Hans Skariah has been licenced since 2002, primarily working in Tavistock and Mississauga. A double scholarship winner at the University of Toronto, his experience and patient/staff loyalty has allowed him to start two practices in Mississauga (2006-now sold) and Plattsville (2013). He is an avid sports fan (frustrated with the Leafs, but ever hopeful with the Raptors and Blue Jays), traveller, computer geek and amateur cosmologist. He is happily married to his wife and very much enjoys time with his twin boys, family and friends.

Andrew Martin El-Faizy, B.Sc., DMD

Dr. Andrew El-Faizy (along with being a classmate and roomate while training with Dr. Skariah) is a passionate artist and sculptor...often taking many courses in Toronto to enhance his craft. This translates to great artistry with his dentistry. He is our resident root canal and wisdom tooth extraction expert and has been working with our group since 2009.

Cara Akerman RDH

Cara obtained her Level II Dental Assisting from Cambrian College in 2000 and graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program in 2002. Since then, she has had the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the best practitioners in Southern Ontario. Cara and her husband have been area locals for the last two years. They have three young children and feel fortunate to have chosen such a great community to raise them in.

In addition to spending time with family, Cara enjoys playing most sports as well as watching any sport live. She met Dr. Hans Skariah in 2012 and has been part of his dental team since, working at both the Plattsville and the Promenade Court Mississauga offices. Cara's passion lies not only in improving ones oral health but in helping patients achieve a better overall health and well-being.

Gloria Williams RDH

Gloria completed her Dental Assisting training at Durham College in 1989 followed by three years of work experience in Kitchener. She then did her Dental Hygiene training at West Liberty University in West Virginia in 1994 (receiving the Golden Scaler award). She and her husband currently live in Mount Elgin on a farm with their two energetic teens where her time is spent on their dance and sporting activities. She herself enjoys belly dancing as a hobby!

Gloria first met Dr. Skariah in 2002 when they were both working together at Tavistock Dental and has been working for him at his Promenade Court Mississauga office since 2009. Some of her extemely loyal patients have been known to drive 400km round trip to see her. When you're happy, she's happy! 

Connie Raymer RN, RDH

Connie completed her Nursing training at Lambton College in 1992 followed by Dental Assisting and Hygiene at George Brown College. Graduating with honours in 1995, she has spent the majority of her tenure at Tavistock Dental until joining our team in 2014. She and her husband currently live in Stratford with their two young children where their time is spent raising their kids. 

Much like Gloria above, Connie first met Dr. Skariah in 2002 when they were both working together at Tavistock Dental and has been working for him at his Promenade Court Mississauga office since 2011. She also has extemely loyal patients that have been known to drive many kilometers to see her. Client satisfaction and education are her main focus. 

Kim Ryan CDA Level II

Kim had been working as Dental Laboratory Technician for 12 years when she decided to return to school to obtain her Level II Dental Assisting from Medix School in 2011. Kim grew up in New Hamburg and now raises her two daughters there as well. She is very involved in her children's activities which include dance and swimming.

She enjoys going to the family cottage in the summer and movies in the winter. Her professional joy is interacting with the patients she meets everyday and having had the pleasure in assisting in their procedures.

 Brenda Mutch CDA

Brenda did her Dental Assisting training at Seneca College in 1982 and has worked the majority of her time in Kitchener and Tavistock.  She has worked with Dr. Skariah in Tavistock since 2002 as his primary assistant/office administrator before becoming the primary office administrator at Plattsville Dental.

Brenda and her husband enjoy their two Jack Russell Terriers (Susie and Miller) and have travelled extensively.
